The Primary
Election in Iowa is a “closed” primary which is held for the members of
political parties to nominate candidates for the general election. The term
“primary election” when it is used in the Code of Iowa, refers to the Primary
Election held in June of even-numbered years. The primary election is held on
the 1st Tuesday following the 1st Monday in June.
Absentee Voting
Absentee voting is available in the Auditor's office until Monday, June 4th at 4:30 pm. The last day to mail out absentee ballots is Friday, June 1st, 2012 at 5:00 pm. The Auditor's office will be open on June 2nd from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for walk-in Absentee voting.
Voter Registration
The last day to pre-register for the June Primary is Saturday, May 26, 2012. The Auditor's office will be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on this day.

Polls
Polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 9:00 p.m. as provided by law. Any
voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in
the voter's vehicle. Absentee voting is available at the Auditor's office at the
Courthouse Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
